I have compiled a list of the tools that I use regularly for SEO purposes – reviewed for 2018, here are my most favourite and beneficial SEO softwares and apps currently available, free or paid, and now want to share it with you!

So, ladies and gentlemen – here is my finished list!

My Best SEO Software List For 2019

Jaaxy Keyword Tool

Jaaxy keyword tool is an SEO tool that I have been using for a while now and have just taken a shine to it.

As you can see it is pretty straightforward in terms of use…simply add your keyword and hit ‘find keywords’….and it gives out a list of suggestions, and usually some great starting points for me and my own blogs.

All it takes is then just to dig and carry on digging. But that is the world of keyword research 🙂

Jaaxy Keyword Tool is a paid service but has a ‘starter’ option where you get 30 searches to have a feel for the tool.

Built within Jaxy Keyword Tool is also a Site Rank section where you can get some insight into your current rankings for given targeted keywords.

Again, a useful service….although I would not recommend relying on just one ranking tool and often get very different results depending on the SEO tool you are using.

I would definitely throw Jaxxy Keyword Tool into the mix in my SEO bag of tools.

Google Analytics

Connecting with Google Analytics is an essential aspect of setting up your blog correct with SEO in mind.

Google Analytics gives you such insight into your website and visitor behaviour, and from there will help you adapt and improve.

You can see where, when and how visitors are coming to your site.

You are able to see exactly what pages users are visiting, how long they stay for and practically any other aspect of monitoring that you can think of.

GA allows you to set up goals based on your individual requirements, it really is an amazing analytics and SEO tool that it had to go in my list.

I am putting this up as a great SEO tool that I regularly use as a side-weapon in my SEO arsenal.

SEOptimer is essentially a piece of online software that crawls through various aspects of your website, taking into account online/offline/social alerts and other SEO-related aspects of your page.

This tool is quite basic but what I like about it is it can often point out SEO aspects that you have overseen.

With so many changing algorithms within the search engines, as an SEO practitioner, it can be very easy to get immersed and focused on certain aspects, be it tags, content, new methods or whatever.

SEOptimer is a quick tool to offer a lovely oversight to your current SEO performance.

SEOptimer does have a white label service which at some point I may be tempted to use, as the tool itself is great, and one that would be a valuable asset on on any SEO agencies website for lead purposes.

Side-by-side SEO.

Now, ladies and gentlemen, this really is a gem of an SEO tool for me.  Side-by-side SEO allows you to look at your current competitors in great detail.

It is the tool that just keeps on giving, looking at page content, keyword density, url structures, and a whole host of other tools within Side-by side SEO.

You simply add your url and the url of the top ranking pages and see what they are doing that you are not, and offers multiple improvements that you could look at on your page to improve it’s SEO.

Side-by-side SEO takes a lot of hard work and searching from you so you can quickly analyse competition and look for potential improvements for your own on-page SEO

Serpwoo is simply an amazing SEO tool, and I fell in love with it as soon as I used it.

Serpwoo uses the top 20 search results and takes a holistic approach focusing on social signals of other ranking websites to offer solutions to improve your own site.  And it does it well!

The intricacies involved in Serpwoo’s effort to make it a top contender for one of my best SEO tools, and that is out of a LOT of tools.

Serpwoo states that it looks at current trending and successful websites, so they can ‘reverse-engineer’ what was popular and help identify future opportunities.

Serpoo is a paid service, but there is the option to get 3 keywords tracked for free, to give you a taste of their services.

I say taste away, you will love it!

Google Search Console (GSC)

Google search console is another absolute necessary SEO tool to get yourself familiar with.  It is free, flexible, informative – it is a no-brainer!

Within GSC there is a wealth of information regarding performance in the search engines, clicks and impressions, queries that you were found with, and more.

GSC is also a place that issues surrounding aspects of your site, such as a misconfigured or damaging robots.txt file or sitemap.

Integration with many, many third party services are available, plugins or apps to enhance your experiences.

GSC is a tool that if you have not already, you want to embrace it 🙂

Google Keyword Planner

Another great SEO tool is Google’s own Keyword Planner (GKW).

It allows you to find keywords to target, either for Google ads or general SEO targeting.

Google Keyword Planner offers search suggestions based on your product or keywords, look at future searches per keyword, advert values and costs – and of course lots of other gadgets around the system.

I love Ahrefs.  It is a paid subscription but there are free account offers and free trials to let you get the feel for this tool.

Ahrefs is simply one of my ‘go-to’ SEO tools.

It offers services from domain overview scraping and reporting, backlink assessment, keyword research tool that is just awesome….just about everything that you would expect for an SEO tool.

I particularly like the solid keyword tool that Ahrefs has to offer, with suggestions and deeper digging than a lot of tools that I have used.  Brilliant for uncovering those ‘golden nugget’ keywords.

Screaming Frog

Screaming frog is an industry-standard SEO crawling tool.

It works as a deep-crawl machine, identifying on-page SEO issues and helps find improvements.

It gives the user plenty of guidance and insight into the functioning of your website as a whole, and individual pages.

Sections are broken down into internal, external, image issues, canonical issues, <h1> <h2> etc issues, duplicates and missing etc.

This is a very thorough tool that honestly I think I have just scraped the surface with.

There is a paid and free option, and this is guided by the amout of URLs crawled each time – limit on free is currently 500 urls – this will be more than enough for a lot, and the paid version is very cheap (around about £150 gbp yer year!) should you need bigger crawls.

Advanced Web Ranking

Advanced Web Ranking is one of the easiest and most-user friendly rank-tracking systems that I have used.

It is intuitive, allowing you to add domains and keywords, update rank changes on a daily, weekly or when required.

I personally used AWR for around 2 years within agencies and love the tool.  It does what it says on the tin, but it does it to absolute perfection, allowing you to monitor your rankings and identifying winning SEO techniques.

AWR also offers a white label option so you can provide this service to clients/customers, and has a great built-in client reporting system – what more could you want from a software!

Woorank is another time-tested SEO tool true superhero!  On a base level it allows us to track our keywords and monitor the SERPS for their performance, as expected.

But, it can do so much more. Page by page analysis of on and off page SEO, Social Media analysis, usability, competition analysis – the list goes on.

One particular function that I love from Woorank is their depth of SEO monitoring of page and site health and the almost constant tips to improve the websites I worked on.

A true online marketing stallion.

Yoast SEO

Yoast SEO is probably one of the most popular WordPress Plugins available.

It takes your onpage SEO and analyses it, bringing the analysis into a beautiful visual ‘traffic light system’, with green being good and red needing attention depending on each aspect of your onpage content.

Yoast offers great guidance to meta tags, descriptions and content, recommended Google character length.

There are sections within yoast that helps you create sitemaps, access and edit .htacces s files if required.

It is the number one SEO plugin, and for good reason.

WordPress SEO Meta Plugin

wp meta seo plugin

SEO Quake is a powerful tool that installs right on your browser bar, giibvng you a mulititude of useful information.
The SEO tool takes into account backlinks, social media alerts, keyword dentsity of an inidigidual page, and even offers estimates for keyword difficulties.

SEO Quake has an ‘overlay’ system in the SERPs, which I really like, showing internal and expernal page links, page rank and authority.

It even has an option to run complete seo audits of a page. SEO Quake has me sold and I never leave home without it now 🙂

Bing Webmaster tools

Personally, I always advise optimising your website for Google – but that is certainly not to say you should ignore bing webmaster tools. according to search engine land bing has over 20% market share of searches – something not to be ignored.

Bing webmaster tools monitors similar issues to Google WMT, crawl and indexation issues, potential security breaches and all the rest that you may expect.

bing tools for seo

One overlooked tool is the Keyword research tool that Bing has to offer, and could unearth some great gems for your own website or blog.

Bing Webmaster tools also has an SEO analysier, crawling and tracking for the usual suspects – but personally I say the more tools the merrier as most give out varying results – I use them all to constantly look fo improvements, and I suggest you embrace all available SEO tools for your projects

mozbar seo image

Mozbar is another great tool that analysiess whatever page you are on, with realtime information about social alerts, backlinks, content data and a host of things that you would expect from Moz.

I love it.  Install it and feel that love 🙂

However, one part of Moz is the other ‘free tools’ that they offer

Check them out – you are welcome 🙂

Brightlocal Search – show your search results from anywhere in the world

I have been using this for a few years now.

Ok, so we do have to take into account proximity when searching online for services.

But I really like the flexibility to control where I am ‘meant to be’ searching from, and I like looking at the different results to look for possible improvements page or site wide.

As you can see above, you get full listings of current rankings depending on where you set your search locations.

Very useful for national and international SEO monitoring/improving.   And it is FREE – always a great price 🙂

deepcrawl logo

Yet another industry standard – I had the pleasure of accessing this software with a client and have to say I was totally blown out of the water with it’s flexibility and ease of use.

Just take a look at some of the capabilities that this software hosts….

Of course there is a price tag that comes with the service, but for an agency it is a real diamond to have.

Google Page Speed Insights

page speed insights google

Google has openly stated that page speed is a ranking factor for SEO purposes now, taking into mind the entire user experience and page speed is quite important.

To assess the quality of your page speed, Google have created PageSpeed Insights where you simply drop your url into the space and hit .
